The Madurai Kamaraj University invites applications from eligible candidates as mentioned below for the post of Clerks and SWGs (Sweeper/ Watchman/ Gardener), exclusively to fill up Backlog vacancies for SC/ST/MBC :
Clerk : 63 posts (SC-41, ST-2, MBC-20), Pay Scale : Rs. 5200-20200 grade pay Rs.2200
Sweeper/ Watchman / Gardener (SWGs) : 08 posts (SC-8)
Application Fee : Rs.500/- (Rs.300/- for SC/ST) in the form of DD in favour of Registrar, Madurai Kamraj University, Madurai.
How to Apply : Application in the prescribed format should be sent to The Registrar, Madurai Kamraj University, Palkalai Nagar, Madurai – 625021, Tamil Nadu on or before 21/06/2013.
General Instructions:
1. Applications in the prescribed format along with attested photocopies of certificates may be submitted to the Registrar, Madurai Kamaraj University, Palkalainagar, Madurai – 625 021 on or before 21 June 2013 at 5.45 p.m.
2. The possession of minimum qualification does not entitle the candidate for selection. The University reserves the right to screen the applications and conduct the selection process as it deems fit. The University reserves the right to fill lesser number of vacancies if qualified / meritorious candidates are not available.

Madurai Kamaraj University, established in 1966, has 18 Schools comprising 73 Departments. The Directorate of Distance Education of the University has a student strength of about 1.30 lakhs. The University has 109 affiliated Colleges (9 Autonomous) including other approved institutions and 7 evening colleges. There are centres which promote research potential of teachers. Extension activities are carried out through Department of Youth Welfare, NSS, SC/ST cell and Adult Education programmes. Madurai Kamaraj University, (originally known as Madurai University) was named after the historical city of Madurai, the ancient capital of the Pandyan rulers and the seat of three famous Tamil academies going back to the beginnings of the Christian and even perhaps an earlier Era, was inaugurated on 6th February 1966 at the heart of the city. Its nucleus was the Extension centre of the University of Madras located at Madurai.
